The Book

Emotional SMARTS® Redefining Personal and Professional Competence presents an easy to read, understand, relate to and apply emotional intelligence model on how to get and keep yourself emotionally smart – particularly as you deal with unrelenting change and uncertainty in both your personal and professional life.

In 94 easy reading pages, Dr. June Donaldson presents her view of the four major cornerstones necessary in demonstrating our Emotional SMARTS®. She refers to these cornerstones as the A, B, C, and D of being emotionally smart. The A relates to having high Awareness Skills – being emotionally literate in all we say and do. The “B” addresses key skills in behaving appropriately – in a wide variety of settings with culturally and demographically different people. The “C” relates to being able to connect well with others – to send a message that we are likeable, trustworthy and capable. Last, the “D” relates to Decision-Making – being able to make big picture, far reaching decisions that stand the test of time and scrutiny.

By design, the book is “de-acamademicacized” as it was written to be educational, encouraging, affordable, easy-to-read and humorous.
